The SARA Foundation is a non-profit organization that was inspired by Dr. Suzanne Slocum-Gori's research and clinical practice working with cancer patients at BC Cancer Agency and UBC Faculty of Medicine, School of Population and Public Health. Dr. Slocum-Gori was the Principal Investigator of clinical studies investigating the effects of yoga on breast cancer patients. Suzanne has been teaching yoga at Inspire Health Integrative Cancer Centre since 2007. Through her research and therapeutics with cancer patients, Suzanne was inspired to start the SARA Foundation....a hub that provides opportunities for cancer patients, cancer survivors and for family members & friends of cancer survivors.

The SARA Foundation has two primary aims:

(2) The second is to provide a hub of resources related to yoga for cancer prevention and management. This can include articles, recipes, blog entries, book reviews, videos, sequences and any other practices that promote healing. Please submit content to be posted for review.

(1) The first is to host international fundraising events for organizations that promote cancer prevention and/or management. All SARA Foundation fundraising events will be grounded within the theoretical foundation of yoga. If you are interested in holding a SARA Foundation fundraising event, please submit a proposal for your fundraising event and our team will review.
